SWOSU leads GAC Preview at Lake Hefner
OKLAHOMA CITY – Southwestern Oklahoma State shot a 19-over 307 to lead the GAC Women’s Preview at the South Golf Course at Lake Hefner. The Lady Bulldogs placed all five players in the top 15 scores on the leader board.
Gloria Choi shot 1-over 73 and is a shot back of the lead in second place. Emily Folsom shot 75, Chloe Thackeray 78, Elin Wahlin 79 and Jenna Eidem 80.
Sarah Wright of Henderson State leads the tournament after shooting a 72 (E) after the first round.
Bailey Blake of Southern Nazarene is in third place individually after an opening 74 and boosted NSU to fourth.
The Crimson Storm shot a 318 and trail third place Henderson State by two shots. Southwestern Oklahoma State leads the field after posting a 307 and has an eight shot lead over second place Arkansas-Monticello. Oklahoma Baptist is in fifth, just one shot behind Southern Nazarene.
Cassidy Herbster is tied for 10th after her opening around 79, while Heidi Stafford shot an 81 and is tied for 17th. Emilee White carded an 84, placing her in a tie for 32nd. Sarah Rovenstine rounded out the top five for SNU with an 88 and is tied for 41st.
The Crimson Storm also had four players competing as individuals in the Preview. Sophomore Jordan Patterson carded an opening round 84, placing her in a tie for 32nd. One shot behind Patterson is sophomore Rachel Donaldson who sits in a tie for 35th after an 85. Freshman Bailee Ford shot an 88, placing her in a tie for 41st, while junior Ashley Moore is in 48th after her opening round 91. Henderson State’s Sarah Wright leads the individual field after carding an even par 72 in the first round.
The Crimson Storm will tee off at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in their final round of the fall season.
