Thomas fires 69 as Tulsa moves up in The Ally
WEST POINT, Miss. –– The Tulsa women golfers turned in the best round of the day among the 12 teams with an even-par 288 score and moved up two places into sixth place at The Ally in second round action Tuesday at the par 72 Old Waverly Golf Club.
The Hurricane has a 36-hole total of 589, just 11 strokes behind second-round leader Florida’s 578. LSU (584), Indiana (585), Mississippi State (587) and James Madison (588) round out the top five teams.
Tulsa super senior Lilly Thomas turned in a 3-under par 69 round today for a 1-over par total score of 145 for eighth place. Sophomore Grace Kilcrease had an even-par 72 score and is tied for 12th place with a 146 total.
Fellow sophomore Jenni Roller is two shots behind Kilcrease after her second straight round of 74. Roller sits in 20thplace with fellow teammate Lovisa Gunnar at 148. Gunnar, playing the tournament as an individual, turned in an even-par 72.
Junior Sydney Seigel scored a round of 73 today and sits in 31st place at 6-over par 150, while freshman redshirt Allyn Stephens is in 49th place with a two-round score of 155.
The tournament will conclude on Wednesday.
