Three Cowboys, three Sooners receive Golfweek All-America honors

NORMAN — Three members of Oklahoma State’s national championship squad and three members of the Oklahoma Sooners, who reached the final eight for match play, earned  Golfweek All-America honors, the publication announced Wednesday.

Oklahoma State’s Preston Stout was a first-team All-American, while Ethan Fang was second-team and Eric Lee made the Honorable Mention list. Stout and Fang were also named first-team Ping All-Americans last week.

For Oklahoma, Jase Summy was named to the second team, Drew Goodman earned third-team recognition and Ryder Cowan received an honorable mention. Oklahoma has now produced 34 All-American selections under 16th-year head coach Ryan Hybl and has had multiple selections in eight of the last nine seasons.

Fang, who is in his first season with the Cowboys after transferring from California, reeled off seven consecutive top 10s to start his OSU career. During that stretch, he had a run of three top fives in a row, finishing fifth at the Fighting Illini Invitational, fourth at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup and third at the Amer Ari Invitational.

The Plano, Texas native tied for third this spring at the Mountaineer Invitational before tying for fifth place at the Big 12 Championship. Fang most recently tied for 15th at the NCAA Championship.

Stout has won twice this spring with victories at the Cabo Collegiate and the Big 12 Championship, where he joined Morgan Hoffmann as the only Cowboys to capture multiple Big 12 crowns.

The Richardson, Texas native has finished in the top 10 in his last six starts after finishing third this week at the NCAA Championship. In addition to his two victories, Stout has other three third-place showings as well, finishing third at the Gators Invitational, the Maridoe Intercollegiate and the Haskins Award Invitational.

Summy, a junior and All-SEC first-team selection, earned his first All-America nod after one of the best seasons in program history. The Keller, Texas, native won the 2025 Maridoe Collegiate and tallied seven top-10 finishes including five in the spring and a T10 finish at the NCAA Amherst Regional. His -0.67 score against par ranked among OU’s all-time top 10 and his 20 rounds in the 60s set a new program record. He will represent the United States at the Arnold Palmer Cup beginning June 5 and is the fifth Sooner to play in the event.

Goodman closed his career as Oklahoma’s 12th three-time All-American, adding 2025 third-team honors to previous selections in 2022 and 2023. An All-SEC second-team pick as a senior, the Norman, Okla., product posted a career scoring average of -0.31, the second lowest in program history. His 96 par-or-better rounds were the most ever by a Sooner and his 154 rounds played ranked third all-time at OU. He finished 15th in the final PGA Tour University ranking and secured status on PGA Tour Americas.

Cowan earned his first full All-America honor after being named a Freshman All-American last year. The Edmond, Okla., native led the team with 10 top-20 finishes in 2025 including six top 10s and three top fives. His career scoring average of 71.04 (-0.06) is the second best two-year mark in school history just behind Summy.

Goodman and Cowan both came up through the Oklahoma junior ranks and the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour.
