Former Oklahoma State star Viktor Hovland and the University of Oklahoma’s Abraham Ancer tied for 11thplace at 13-under-par in the Traveler’s Championship Sunday.

That was the PGA Tour highlight of how players with Oklahoma ties fared this weekend, but not the only bright spot.

On the APT Tour, former OSU Cowboy Sam Stevens shot a blistering 28-under and then won a playoff with Trey Mullinax to win the Cooper Communities NWA Charity Classic at Bella Vista.

Also in the field, Trent Whitekiller of Sallisaw tied for 24th,  Hayden Wood of Edmond tied for 27th  and Brendon Jelley of Tulsa tied for 30thalong with former Sooner Blaine Hale. Complete results here.

On the Korn Ferry Tour, it wasn’t a great week for state players at the Utah Championship. Josh Creel of Edmond tied for 44th,  while former OSU golfer Kevin Dougherty tied for 52nd. Missing the cut were Tag Ridings, Max McGreevy, Jordan Niebrugge, Grant Hirschman, Charlie Saxon, Michael Gellerman and Anders Albertson.

Beyond Hovland and Ancer, it was a similar tale at The Travelers.  Matthew Wolff, Robert Streb, Talor Gooch and Kevin Tway each missed the cut. Complete results at www.pgatour.com.
