Tseng seventh, Tulsa takes third in SMU/DAC Invitational

DALLAS, Texas –– The Tulsa women’s golf team opened the spring season with a 3rd place performance at the one-day, 36-hole SMU/DAC Invitational at the par-72 Dallas Athletic Club course on Monday.

After carding a morning round of 325, the Golden Hurricane women shot 23-strokes better in Monday’s second round with a score of 302 to finish with a 627 total for its third-place performance.

Tulsa had three golfers place among the top-15, including a 7th place finish by sophomore Lorena Tseng, who carded rounds of 79 and 74 for a 9-over par 153 total. Fellow sophomore Sammy Liu, after scoring 86 through the first 18 holes, finished the day with a remarkable 1-under par score of 71 in second round play to complete the day at 157 for 11th place.

Junior Haley Greb also placed among the top-15 individually with a score of 158 after rounds of 78 and 80 to finish in 13thplace.

Tulsa’s freshmen, Lilly Thomas and Alex Christeson, placed 18th and 31st, respectively. Thomas shot rounds of 84 and 77 for a 161 total, while Christeson turned in two rounds of 84 for a 168 score.

Baylor won the event with a score of 595 on rounds of 301 and 294.

Tulsa will be in action next at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, Feb. 16-18, in New Orleans, La.
