Tulsa in middle of pack in Trinity Forest Invitational
DALLAS, Texas –– The Tulsa women’s golf team carded a 36-hole score of 581 to finish the first day at the Trinity Forest Invitational in seventh place.
After an opening round ninth-place 295 score at the par-72 Trinity Forest Golf Club, it was a nine-stroke turnaround in second round action for the Hurricane. Tulsa totaled a 2-under par 286 for the second 18 holes on Monday.
Tulsa sophomore Lovisa Gunnar used a second round 4-under par 68 to close-out the day in 14th place with 1-under 143 score. She bettered her first-round score of 75 by seven strokes. Freshman Grace Kilcrease and sophomore Sydney Seigel carded identical rounds of 74 and 71 for 1-over par 145 scores to tie for 26th place.
Freshman Jenni Roller is in 51st place with a 6-over par 150 total, while senior Lilly Thomas is in 56th place at 151.
SMU leads the 15-team field with a 12-under par score of 564 after an outstanding second round 10-under par 278.
The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.
