Tulsa signs Arizona Golfer Sydney Seigel to National Letter-of-Intent
TULSA – A member of the 2020 National High School Golf Champions, Sydney Seigel from Pinnacle High School in Arizona, signed a national letter-of-intent to continue her education and golf career at The University of Tulsa, it was announced today by Tulsa head coach Annie Young.
Seigel’s 2020 team won the High School National Championship at Pinehurst Golf Club in North Carolina. Her team also won the 2019 Arizona High School State Championship and placed as runner-up in 2020.
A four-year letterwinner and starter, Seigel finished in ninth place individually at both the 2019 and 2020 state events and finished in 10th place as a sophomore. She was named the team’s Breakthrough Player of the year twice and in 2019 won the team’s Most Dedicated Player award.
“Sydney will be a nice addition to our program. She is a great girl that is a solid golfer and wonderful student. We are looking forward to her coming to Tulsa in the fall,” Young said.
In the Junior Golf Association of Arizona, Seigel finished in fifth place at the 2020 Scottsdale Junior Championship, while also placing among the top-10 at the Thunderbird Invitational-PING Jr. Masters in seventh place and ninth at the Phoenix City Junior Championship in 2020.
In 2019, Seigel played in 23 junior tournaments and finished among the top-15 in 11 events. She placed second at the AJGA Senior Classic at The Legacy Golf Club in Las Vegas with rounds of 71 and 70 and also placed second at the IMG Jr. World Qualifier with rounds of 70 and 71.
