Tulsa takes 10th at Chevron Collegiate, Roller places 16th

HUMBLE, Texas –– The Golden Hurricane women golfers slipped three places to finish 10^th at the Chevron Collegiate at Golf Club of Houston on Tuesday. After shooting a 5-under-par 283 in each of the first two rounds, Tulsa carded 296 strokes, 8-over-par, in Tuesday’s final round to finish two strokes under par at 862.

TCU shot 14-under and 15-under in their final two rounds on Monday and Tuesday to run away with the team title, amassing a -34, 830 score, nine strokes better than second-placed Texas A&M, who held a four-stroke lead heading into the final round. No. 1 Arkansas (840), SMU (845) and Mississippi State (845) rounded out the top five.

Jenni Roller carded a 1-under 71 on Tuesday to finish 5-under for the tournament in a tie for 16^th, pacing the Golden Hurricane. Roller made two birdies, one bogey and 15 pars in her consistent round.

Allyn Stephens also opened the round with a birdie but finished 2 over for the day and -1 for the Collegiate in a tie for 31^st. Romaine Masserey tied for 41^st after shooting 75 on Tuesday, finishing at 1-over 217. Sydney Seigel shot 76 and finished five strokes behind Masserey in a tie for 61^st. Lovisa Gunnar ended in a tie for 68^th at eight strokes over par. She shot a 76 on Tuesday as well.

Texas A&M’s Vanessa Borovilos finished 15-under (201) to take home the individual title. She was two strokes ahead of Camille Min-Gaulthier out of TCU.

UP NEXT

Tulsa will return to the course in a couple of weeks for the Briar’s Creek Invitational at the Golf Club at Briar’s Creek in John’s Island, South Carolina. The College of Charleston will host the two-day event that starts on Monday, March 11.
