Tulsa within striking distance in Kiawah Island Spring Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – The Tulsa women’s golf team is in fifth place heading into Tuesday’s final round at the 49-team Kiawah Island Spring Classic. The Hurricane carded a second-round score of 290 today for a 36-hole total of 589, while North Florida leads the field with a 1-over par score of 577.

Tulsa freshman Lorena Tseng and senior Johanna Samuelsson are tied for 19th place with an identical score of 146, while freshman ShaeLee Scarberry is in 39th place two strokes back at 148. Tseng and Samuelsson turned in rounds of 74 today, while Scarberry shot 75 at the par-72 Oak Point course.

Sophomore Taylor Dobson carded a round of 76 and her 150 score is good for 53rd place. Freshman Sammy Liu is in 70th place with a score of 151.

For the final round on Tuesday, the top 24 teams will play for the championship on the Osprey Point course, while teams 25-48 will play for a flight championship at the Oak Point course.
