MELBOURNE, Fla. –– The Tulsa women’s golf team will open the spring season at the Columbia Classic in Melbourne, Fla., Saturday-Monday, Feb. 11-13. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at the par 72, 6,357-yard Duran Golf Club.

Tulsa is coming off a fall season that saw the Golden Hurricane finish among the top-3 in three of five tournaments, including capturing two tournament titles –– a seven-stroke victory at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup and a one-stroke win at Tulsa’s own Dale McNamara Invitational.

The 14-team field consists of host Columbia, Texas Tech, Tulsa, Notre Dame, Princeton, Penn State, Richmond, Old Dominion, Dartmouth, Boston U, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Albany and Youngstown State.

The Hurricane team will be represented at the Columbia Classic by senior Lilly Thomas, sophomore Sydney Seigel and the freshmen trio of Grace Kilcrease, Emily Boehrer and Jenni Roller.

Kilcrease has a team-best 72.0 stroke average, while placing among the top-10 in four of five fall events. Her best finish came at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup with a second-place performance. Thomas placed among the top-10 at two tournaments with a season-best third-place outing at the season-opening Green Wave Classic, while tallying a 74.2 stroke average in 12 rounds. Roller, Boehrer and Seigel each had sub-75 stroke averages during the fall campaign.
