Tulsa women finish strong in Lady Paladin
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of Tulsa women’s golf team carded a final round 296 to close out the Lady Paladin Invitational in 13th place with a score of 915 on Tuesday. Tulsa’s score today at the par-72 Furman University Golf Course was an improvement of 12 strokes over its previous best round for the 54-hole event and was the second-best team round of the day.
Tulsa junior Chanya Angwarawong turned in a 1-under par round of 71 today to finish the three-day event with a score of 5-over par 221, which was good for 13th place in the field of 96 golfers.
Host Furman claimed the team title with a 4-under par score of 860 after totaling a final round 2-under par 286. Wake Forest (882), Texas Tech (883), Florida State (889) and Yale and Kansas (892) rounded out the top-six finishers.
Tulsa senior Alex Haun turned in her best round of the tournament with an even-par 72 and finished in 41st place with a 228 total score. Junior Antonia Von Wnuck shot 75 to finish with a 231 total for 54th place.
Sophomore Nadia Majidizadeh and senior Franziska Voellinger tied for 76th place with scores of 238.
Furman’s Taylor Totland captured individual medalist honors at 7-under 209 after a final round of 71.
Tulsa will be back in action next at the Betsy Rawls Invitational, October 12-14, in Austin, Texas at the University of Texas Golf Club.
