Tulsa women last in Westbrook Invitational
Peoria, Ariz. –– Tulsa junior golfer Franziska Voellinger finished in 14th place individually at the par-72 Westbrook Invitational on Monday afternoon. The Hurricane women finished the tournament with a score of 885 for 14th place after turning in a score of 297 for the final round at the Westbrook Village Golf Club.
Voellinger carded an even-par final round 72 and finished the 54-hole tournament with an even-par 216 total. She turned in earlier rounds of 71 and 73 on Sunday. Tulsa senior Kayla Riede placed 22nd overall with a 2-over par score of 218.
The nation’s 35th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes captured the team title with a score of 838, followed by 19th-ranked Oregon’s 848 score. Wisconsin (859), College of Charleston and Nebraska, both at 869, rounded out the top-five teams.
Tulsa sophomore Antonia Von Wnuck finished in 49th place with a score of 223 after a Monday round of 77, while sophomore Alex Haun placed 75th with a score of 233. Freshman Nadia Majidizadeh scored a round of 75 today.
Individually, Ohio State’s Jessica Porvasnik captured medalist honors with a 13-under par 203, beating out three players who tied for second place overall with scores of nine-under par 207.
Tulsa will be back in action March 14-16 at the Notre Dame Clover Cup, played at the Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, Arizona. The NCAA Championships will be held at Tulsa Country Club on May 20-23.
