UCO men win Brickyard Crossing Intercollegiate
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Sept. 16) – Eric Kline and Logan Gray sparked a final-round surge that lifted Central Oklahoma to Brickyard Crossing Intercollegiate championship here Tuesday.
Kline fired a closing two-under-par 69 and Gray an even-par 71 as the Bronchos shot a closing 288 to finish with a 578 total at the 7,180-yard Brickyard Crossing Golf Club, good for a six-shot win over Missouri-St. Louis in the event that was shortened to 36 holes by rain.
West Florida finished third in the 13-team tournament at 588, followed by Barry and Grand Valley State (590).
It was the second straight title for UCO, which opened the 2014-15 season last week with a playoff win over Central Missouri in the Lincoln Invitational.
Russ Purser and Alexander Hughes both shot 74 for the Bronchos, while Cody Troutman added a 77.
Gray and Purser ended up tied for second in the individual race at one-over-par 143. Kline knocked nine shots off his first-round score in ending up tied for 14th at 147.
UCO continues the fall season next week at the NSU Golf Classic in Bartlesville.
