Walcher, Stevenson jostle for lead in OGA Mid-Amateur at Battle Creek
Conrad Walcher of Oklahoma City shot a 6-under-par round of 66 at Battle Creek Golf Course in Broken Arrow Monday to take a one-shot lead in the Oklahoma Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship.
Walcher leads Cole Stevenson of Tulsa by one shot entering today’s second round of the 54-hole tournament which concludes Wednesday.
Stevenson shot 67, while Mike Hearne of Yukon shot 4-under 68 and Kyle Hudelson of Oklahoma City shot 70. Also under par at 71 are Mike Gotcher of Broken Arrow, Blake Trimble of Oklahoma City and Luke Phillips of Edmond.
Also being played at Battle Creek concluding today is the OGA Women’s Stroke Play Championship. Ashlyn Acosta of Yukon leads after the first round with a 74, followed by Makaylee Cowan of Yukon at 76 and Taylor Tevis of Bixby at 79.
