BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Oklahoma City University swept the team and individual titles in the Las Vegas Shooutout on Tuesday at Boulder City Golf Course.

In a competition with three other ranked teams, OCU ranked No. 2 in NAIA women’s golf, took the top spot by nine shots over No. 14 Ottawa-Arizona. Paige Wood of the Stars claimed the individual win.

The Stars notched the victory in Josh Gorzney‘s debut as OCU coach.

“We were a little rusty coming off of a long winter away from competitive golf,” Gorzney said. “The girls hung in there and definitely have some positives to take into the next weeks of practice. I am proud of Paige Wood for getting the individual victory in this tournament for the second year in a row.”

Wood, a sophomore broadcast journalism major from McKinney, Texas, picked up her third career win. Wood shot 76-73–149, good for 5 over par. Overall, Wood had seven birdies and one eagle with five birdies in the second round. Wood birdied two and made par on two of the final four holes to take over the lead.
