Wood propels Stars into tie for second through 36 at NAIA National Championship

Oklahoma City University moved into a tie for second place at the halfway point of the NAIA National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Il., just one shot behind Keiser University.

Led by a 72 from Paige Wood, the Stars shot 300, an improvement of nine shots over their opening round. Wood vaulted into a tie for fourth individually.

Maddi Kamas shot a second consecutive 76 and is tied for eighth. Logan Allen shot 74, Jamie Welsh 78 and Aubrey House 80.

OCU is tied with British Columbia at 609 in what could turn into a three-team race over the final 36 holes. Fourth place SCAD-Savannah is at 620.

The tournament continues through Friday.
