Worrell, Creel advance to final stage of Web.com Tour qualifying

The final three second-stage qualifying events for the 2017 Web.com Tour begin Wednesday, two of the events at Florida locations and one at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. The 72-hole events conclude Saturday.

Two events were held late week. Former University of Tulsa player Chris Worrell of Jenks shot 12-under and finished tied for 11th at the second-stage event held at Magnolia Trail Crossing in Mobile, Ala., to advance to the final stage. In Beaumont, Calif., Josh Creel, the 2015 Oklahoma Open champion from Edmond, tied for 12th at 9-under to advance.

The final stage of qualifying school is Dec. 8-11 at Orange County National in Orlando, Fla.

Ryan Spears of Del City saw a four-year run on the Web.com Tour come to an end when he finished tied for 61st at Beaumont.

Among the Oklahomans competing at Craig Ranch are Dillon Rust of Edmond, Talor Gooch of Midwest City, Trent Whitekiller of Sallisaw, Will Kropp of Edmond and Cameron Meyers of Edmond. Also in the field are former University of Oklahoma golfers Michael Schoolcraft and Hunter Haas and former Oklahoma State golfer Kevin Dougherty.
