Youngblood receives Everett Dobson Award at Hall of Fame Classic
The Oklahoma Golf Hall of Fame Classic was held Tuesday at Oak Tree National in Edmond. Former Durant and University of Oklahoma star Sydney Youngblood was presented the Everett Dobson Award by Dobson, owner of Oak Tree National and founder and supporter of the Oklahoma Golf Hall of Fame. She is pictured above with Dobson and with parents Bridgett and Jeff.
The $5,000 award helps a graduating Oklahoma collegian begin their professional career in their chosen endeavor. Youngblood is attending graduate school, helping coach the team at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and pursuing professional golf.
Youngblood played in a group that included current Oklahoma Golf Hall of Fame inductee Lee Ann Fairlie. Inductee Gil Morgan came out early to greet the participants as well. The tournament raises funds for the Hall’s scholarship and awards program as well as efforts toward a future permanent site. All information including videos, acceptance speeches and much more can currently be viewed on at www.oklahomagolfhof.org.
The next induction class will be held in Oklahoma City in 2021 and will be announced in the spring.
