Birdie Bay seeks Tulsa’s best golfers for contest, shot at $150,000 prize
Birdie Bay, an indoor golf simulator center in Tulsa, is calling on all area golfers to try out for a team that will compete in an international contest – The Professional Simulator Tour — culminating in two teams competing at the 2025 PGA Merchandise Show for a top prize of $150,000.
The contest is sponsored by Golfzon, makers of the simulators used at Birdie Bay and other locations around the globe.
There are 12 locations worldwide that will form five-person teams for the contest including Birdie Bay.
Those teams will play a round robin playoff format on location with the top two teams advancing to Orlando in January.
Tryouts for the Birdie Bay team consist of going to Birdie Bay between now and Sept. 16 and paying $40 to play a round from the tips at Kiawah Island. The best score registered early this week has been 2-over-par.
Professionals are welcome and Birdie Bay co-owner Keaton Lockhart said he hopes many of the area’s top golfers come by to try out.
“It can be amateur’s, tour pros, club professionals, anyone who wants to give it a try,” Lockhart said. “Golfzon is starting this to compete with the TG.” TGL is a planned simulator golf league founded by TMRW Sports partially owned by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
