Bond edges Lathrop to win OJGT’s Bailey Ranch Bash, Flores doubles down

Collin Bond of Norman opened with a 67 and held on with a second-round 74 for a one-shot victory over Ben Lathrop of Oklahoma City to win the Bailey Ranch Bash on the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour Sunday. Bond is also an outstanding basketball player who just took up golf in 2020.

Lathrop shot consecutive rounds of 1-under 71 to shoot 142. Tied for third were Noah Holtzman of Wichita (70-73) and Christian Johnson of Oklahoma City (70-73). Logan Mayo of Springdale, Ark., took fifth at 145 ((76-69).

Ivanna Flores, a native of Venezuela who is visiting her godparents in Norman, won her second consecutive OJGT event, shooting 77-73 for a 6-over 150. She finished seven shots of Allie Justiz of Arcadia (77-80). Juliana Hong of Norman was third at 160 (77-83), while Layne Ailshie of Fort Gibson (80-84) and Corlyn Marquess of Plainville, Kan, (80-84) tied for fourth at 164.
