Bostick leads Oklahoma to eighth in PGA High School National Invite, Bond ties for 14th

FRISCO, Texas (July 19, 2023) Georgia (RVA) from Alpharetta carded a three-day total of 879 to successfully defend its boys team championship title at the 2023 PGA High School Golf National Invitational presented by Titleist & FootJoy on Wednesday. The three-day, 54-hole event was conducted on the Fields Ranch East and West Courses at PGA Frisco as well as the Tribute Golf Links.

The Oklahoma entrant from Duncan placed seventh, paced by UCO signee Baylor Bostick who placed 27th individually after rounds of 75-74-74. His teammates were Jace Black, Caden Stephens, Grayson Brooksher and Jack Ensey. Complete team scores are here.

Two other Oklahoma teams finished 13th and 30th. The team from Norman High School placed 13th, with Dennon Norman, Sebastian Salazar, Quinn Robertson, Ben Campbell and Benson Diehm competing.

The top Oklahoma finisher was Oklahoma State commit Collin Bond of Community Christian High School in Norman. Bond shot rounds of  74-71-75 to finish tied for 14th. His Community Christian team placed 30th. Also competing were Jackson Kennedy, William Whorton, Gage Tucker and Carson Montgomery. All individual results are here.

Georgia (RVA) entered the final round trailing by four strokes to a familiar opponent in Georgia (MLT) as the two teams play for schools three miles apart and practice at the same golf course north of Atlanta. Georgia (RVA) posted a team score of 13-over-par 301 on Wednesday at Fields Ranch East to ultimately win the title by six strokes over Georgia (MLT), which recorded a three-day total of 885.

The top five was rounded out by California (DLS) in third with 893, Virginia (CLG) fourth with 894 and Hawaii (WKA) in fifth at 913.
