McCracken in contention at APT’s Real Okie Championship in Muskogee

Logan McCracken of Oklahoma City shot a 6-under 64 and was two shots off the lead after the first round of the Real Okie Championship at Muskogee Golf Club. The 72-hole event on the professional All Pro Tour carries a $20,000 prize for first place. Delayed from the spring due to course repairs, the event is open to the public at no charge.

Gray Townsend (Winston-Salem, NC) shot 8-under 62 to hold the lead after the first round. Other players with Oklahoma ties in the field and their first-round scores include former Oklahoma Sooner Blaine Hale (66), former Sooner Charlie Saxon (67), amateurs William McDonald of Oklahoma City (68), Jared Strathe of Owasso (68) and Mesa Falleur of Muskogee (70).

The cut will be made to the top 43 and ties after Thursday’s second round. The event continues through Saturday.
