Broken Arrow — Greg Bray, general manager at Terradyne Country Club in Andover, Kan., has been selected the 2016 South Central PGA Golf Professional of the Year. Bray, a 12-year PGA Member, received his membership while working as an Assistant Professional at Wichita Country Club in 2004. During that time, he was honored twice as the Section’s Assistant Professional of the Year. In 2006 Bray became the head holf professional at Terradyne Country Club and in 2012 was promoted to general manager.
Bray’s dedication to his section is unwavering. He is a past officer of both the Section Assistant’s Association and Kansas Chapter and currently serves as the chair of the Tournament Committee. In addition to service to the section, Bray is dedicated to community involvement and growing the game of golf within Wichita. In 2013, he helped spearhead an effort to bring golf into the Wichita Public School System. Through his efforts, the Kansas Chapter Golf Professionals have trained over 60 P.E. teachers on how to use both the SNAG and First Tee curriculum to reach over 4,000 kids with the game of golf.
Bray is also the recipient of the 2016 South Central PGA Patriot Award, given annually to the PGA Member who personifies patriotism through the game of golf and demonstrates unwavering commitment and dedication to the men and women who have served and protected the United States of America. In 2016 Bray introduced an annual Hickory Stick Event that partnered with Peoples Prosthetics to raise over $20,000 for The Folds of Honor Foundation. With his Red Shirt Friday campaign, Bray keeps The Patriot Golf Day theme going all year round, showcasing his dedication to cause as well as his unending service to be the best PGA Professional he can be.
