Burrows takes third as ORU men match best round

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Matching its best round of the season, the Oral Roberts men’s golf team shot 281 Tuesday and moved up to fifth place at the Missouri Tiger Invitational, finishing the tournament 16 under par at 848 (285-282-281). No. 35 TCU led from start to finish, shooting -40, 824, to win the team title.
With two of the top 15 rounds in school history this week, ORU’s 848 is the fifth best 54-hole score in program history and the highest since shooting 846 at the ASU Indian Classic in 2008.
Cody Burrows show a career low 206, tied for fifth in the ORU record books, to finish tied for third overall. It was Burrows’ sixth top five finish this season.
ORU had 21 birdies in the final round, including six from Jack Howes, who had three in a row to finish his round at -3, 69.
