SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Northeastern State closed out its regular season with a bang on Tuesday with Ebba Moberg claiming an individual title at the Central Region Preview.

Moberg scored a 145 (74-71) for her third career first-place finish and second title in the last three seasons at the Rivercut Golf Course.  Northeastern State finished the two-round tournament runner up to second-ranked Dallas Baptist after carding a 609 (301-308).  Central Oklahoma finished third and Southwestern Oklahoma State fourth.

NSU has placed in the top-2 in five of its ten tournaments this season, with two team titles.

Fellow freshman Faith Stewart backed up O’Dell’s round with a 78, while Sydney Roberts shot 79.  Makena Mucciaccio and Yuna Sato both added 82s for the Bronchos.

Roberts tied for ninth in the individual standings with a 152 total, while Stewart and O’Dell tied for 16th at 154.

The Bronchos don’t play again until going to Mayetta, Kan. April 22-24 for the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Championships.

SWOSU was the top finishing team among seven Great American Conference schools in the field and the Lady Bulldogs were just one shot behind Central Oklahoma in third place.

Leading the way for SWOSU was senior Elin Wahlin, who carded rounds of 74 and 78 to earn a top-ten finish as she tied for ninth place at nine-over par for the tournament. One shot behind her was Chloe Thackeray, who tied for 13th place while the Lady Bulldogs other three finishers – Veronika de Bochdanovits, Gloria Choi and Jenna Eidem all tied at 14-over par for the tournament.

The Regional Preview was the final regular season event for the Lady Bulldogs, who now turn their attention to postseason play, which begins on Sunday at the Great American Conference Championships, an event that will continue through Tuesday in Hot Springs, Arkansas. SWOSU was ranked fourth in the initial NCAA Division II Regional Rankings, which were released last week on NCAA.com.
