Coit, Scarberry, Whitley, Miller reach WOGA State Amateur semifinals

Olivia Coit of Edmond continued her strong play this summer with a pair of victories in the Women’s Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship at The Territory in Duncan.

Coit defeated Carley Haught 4 and 3 in the opening round then edged Faith Belmear of Owasso 1 up to reach Wednesday’s semifinals.

Coit finished third in the Class 6A high school championship this spring, then finished as the runnerup to Jenni Roller in the OGA Junior State Amateur at Kickingbird.

Also reaching the semifinals were ShaeBug Scarberry of Purcell, Lilly Whitley of Edmond and Janet Miller of Catoosa.

Scarberry will face Coit in one semifinal while Whitley and Miller square off in the other semifinal. The championship match is Thursday morning.
