Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team has signed Tiger Christensen and Jordan Wilson to National Letters of Intent it was announced today by head coach Alan Bratton.
A native of Hamburg, Germany, Christensen has competed as a member of the German National Team, helping the squad to a runner-up showing at the 2019 European Boys Team Championship. He won the 2020 Schäfflertanz International Open after closing with a final round of 66. Additionally, he won the 2020 Triple A European Open in Spain.
In 2019, Christensen was second at the Fairhaven Trophy in England and finished third at the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters. He finished fifth at the German U16 National Championship as well.
“Tiger is an exciting player. He has nice speed and a beautiful golf swing,” Bratton said. “He is one of the top players in Europe and should fit right in as he tries to follow in the footsteps of the other top European players we have had in our program.”
Wilson, a product of Edmond (Okla.) North High School, captured the Oklahoma Class 6A individual title as well as the 2019 Oklahoma State Amateur title, where he defeated current Cowboy All-American Austin Eckroat in the championship match to become the first high school player to win the event since 2009. This past summer, he finished fourth at the Oklahoma Stroke Play Championship, which was won by current Cowboy Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen.
An honorable mention AJGA All-America selection, Wilson was runner-up at the UHY St. Louis Junior, third at the Callaway Golf Texas Junior Open and tied for fourth at the Gateway First Bank Tulsa Junior.
“We always want the best players in Oklahoma. Jordan has already achieved at a high level, winning the state high school and state amateur titles,” Bratton said. “I really like his competitiveness and how he has continued to improve year after year.”
