Cowgirls finish tied for 11th in Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The Oklahoma State women’s golf team jumped one spot up to 11th place with an 11-over 295 in the final round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. The No. 18 ranked Cowgirls took on 11 other teams ranked in the top 30, and finished with a 33-over 885.

Chih-Min Chen climbed 23 spots up the leaderboard with a 2-over 73 in the final round. The reining Big 12 Freshman of the Year finished the tournament in 45th place at 10-over 223.

Alexis Sadeghy carded seven pars in the first nine holes and rose three places to 55th. She scored a 12-over 225 for all three rounds of play.

Maddie McCrary parred her first seven holes of the day, finishing at 2-over 73. She jumped up two spots on the leaderboard with an overall 8-over 221 to end the final round.

Southern California was 5-over 289 for the day, but that was good enough to move the Trojans into first place with a 4-over 856 finish. Florida opened the day atop the leaderboard, but fell to 4th place with an 11-over 295 for the final round of play.

Linnea Johansson was the highest finishing Cowgirl at 31st with a 7-over 220 total.  Kenzie Neisen fell to 50th place and finished with a 1-over 224 for the tournament.

The Cowgirls will travel to New Orleans for the All-State Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, which starts Sunday, Feb. 19.
