Cowgirls tie for third in San Antonio, earn spot in NCAA Championship
Oklahoma State secured a berth in the 2023 NCAA Championship with a tie for third in the San Antonio Regional Wednesday.
The Cowgirls finished tied for third with host Texas A&M at 880, seven shots behind SMU and Pepperdine, who tied for first at 873. In fifth place was New Mexico at 889. Auburn, coached by former University of Tulsa All-American and coach Melissa Luellen, finished sixth at 893. Only the top five teams qualify for the NCAA Championship, which will be held May 19-24 at Greyhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Clemence Martin paced the Cowgirls at the regional with a tie for third individually after rounds of 72-70-72. Rina Tatematsu finished fifth (76-69-70). Thitaporn Saithip tied for 25th after shooting 70-78-76.
