Creel chasing Miernicki in Real Okie Championship
Former University of Central Oklahoma golfer Josh Creel shot a 4-under 66 Friday to remain on the heels of red-hot Daniel Miernicki in the Muscogee Creek Nation Real Okie Championship, an APT Tour event at Muskogee Golf Club.
Miernicki shot 64 Friday after opening with a 62 Thursday and is at 14-under through two rounds. Vincent Whaley is in third place at 8-under. Other players with Oklahoma ties in contention are former OSU golfer Chris Tidland, 7-under after a 67, former OU golfer Michael Gellerman, 7-under after a 67, former University of Tulsa golfer Chris Worrell, 4-under after a 66, and former UCO golfer Dillon Rust, 4-under after a 68.
The field was cut to the low 45 and ties. Those golfers will play 36 holes Saturday.
