Cryer paces USAO to victory in Top of Texas in Lubbock

Connor Cryer shot consistent rounds of 72-72-73 to claim medalist honors and lead the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma to a six-shot victory over Wayland Baptist in the Top of Texas collegiate tournament Tuesday at Lakeridge Country Club in Lubbock, Texas.

USAO teammate Jax Brewer tied for second at 219 after rounds of 73-75-71. Also in the top 10 were Caleb Smith and Tate Trotter, who tied for ninth at 226. Jaeden Ellis tied for 12th, a shot back at 227.

It was the second victory of the season for USAO, whose entire starting five hails from Oklahoma including Tipton native Cryer. Zane Welborn paced Wayland Baptist, tying Brewer for second at 219.
