Cummins named Big 12 Golfer of the Month
NORMAN — Oklahoma redshirt junior Quade Cummins was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for November, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Cummin led the Sooners to a third-place finish at the Ka’anapali Classic in Lahaina, Hawai’i, in the team’s only tournament during November. The redshirt junior shot a 15-under 198 to finish in second place at the event. Cummins’ 54-hole total is the third-lowest three-round score in program history.
OU carded a 264 (-20) during the final round, the lowest round in school history. Cummins posted a final round 65 (-6) at the Ka’anapali Classic, his best round of his collegiate career.
Cummins also won the Marathon Sun Bowl All-America Classic on Nov. 20, taking home the tournament title by winning a playoff over Georgia’s Spencer Ralston.
The Weatherford, Okla., native posted a bogey-free 62 (-9) during the final round to force the playoff. Cummins’ final round 62 tied the tournament record for the lowest round in event history.
The Sooners open their spring schedule on Feb. 17-19 at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Mar, P.R.
