Fierro leads OSU to third-place finish at Wildcat Invitational
TUSCON, Ariz. – Isabella Fierro recorded the ninth top-10 finish of her career, leading the Oklahoma State women’s golf team to a third-place finish at the Wildcat Invitational.
Fierro finished in a tie for fifth place after recording a second round 68. She posted a 54-hole score of 5-under 211. The sophomore All-American finished the event with 10 birdies and a 3.89 average on par-4 holes, third among all competitors.
The Cowgirls shot 4-under 860 for the tournament. OSU remained consistent through 54 holes to finish behind Texas who finished 28-under 836. Texas’s Sara Kouskova took home the individual title with a 10-under 206.
Maja Stark rallied in the final round, carding 4 birdies to finish at 1-under 215 and in a tie for 11th place. Rina Tatematsu and Maddison Hinson-Tolchard finished in a tie for 18th place at 2-over 218.
A 73 on the day put Lianna Bailey in a tie for 29th place, carding a 6-over 222.
The Cowgirls will return to action at the Mountain View Collegiate in Saddlebrooke, Arizona on March 19.
