First Tee of Tulsa event at Southern Hills moves to May; Masters Classic in April at FlyingTee
Golfers have two opportunities approaching this spring to have a memorable experience while benefitting the First Tee of Tulsa.
The 16th annual First Tee of Tulsa Charitable Golf Tournament will be held at prestigious Southern Hills Country Club on May 21. This event has traditionally been in October but is moving up to accommodate upcoming renovations at Southern Hills.
The popular event offers shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Contestants will vie for prizes for low net and low gross teams in a shamble format using 50 percent handicap. Cost is $500 per person and sponsorships are available running from Presenting Sponsor at $9,500 to 19th hole sponsor at $800. Click here for details.
The event is the major fundraiser for the First Tee of Tulsa, based at Mohawk Park Golf Course. The First Tee of Tulsa, established in 1999 and run from the outset by former LPGA Tour player Janice Gibson, reaches thousands of young golfers and potential golfers annually through its in-house and outreach programs. More than 20,000 children have participated in Tulsa and the tournament has raised more than $1,339,000 in the previous 15 years.

The Masters Classic, scheduled from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., is an 18-hole scramble on world-renowned Pebble Beach Golf Links using the sophisticated simulators and ball tracking technology including ProTracer at FlyingTee.
Three levels of participation are available:
• Gold Sponsor for $2,500, includes two teams of four players, complimentary food and cocktails throughout, all manner of tee gifts and, very importantly, a foursome of golf at Southern Hills Country Club at a time to be determined.
• Silver Sponsor for $1,250. One team of four players, complimentary food and drink, raffle tickets, signage and other sponsor benefits.
• Individual player for $250, includes tee favors, food and drink and two raffle tickets.
