Golden Eagles roll in Rivertowne Invitational, Riu ties for second

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Christina Riu tied for second and Sarah Bell and Isabella Caamal tied for seventh as the Oral Roberts women’s golf team claimed its second consecutive tournament title by winning the Rivertowne Invitational in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Golden Eagles won their first tournament of the spring season with an 878 (+14) score. The team won by 20 strokes over Elon and 24 better than Morehead State. ORU had 41 birdies in the tournament. The team had its best round in round three finishing with a 283 (-5) score. Three Golden Eagles shot under par in round three.
 Riu led ORU and finished tied for second with a 217 (+1) score. Riu was three strokes off the lead. She had 11 total birdies and shot a 69 (-3) in round three. Round three was the best round score of her career.

Bell finished the tournament tied for seventh along at 4-over with teammate Caamal. Bell made eight birdies in her two days of play and shot a 69 (-3) in round three. Caamal hit 10 birdies and shot 71 (-1) in the final round.

ORU will play in the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitation in St. George, Utah.
