Goodman’ run ends in second round of U.S. Junior Amateur Championship
Andrew Goodman of Norman advanced to the round of 32 in the 73rd U.S. Junior Amateur Championship Wednesday with a 5 and 4 victory over Rylan Wotherspoon of Cincinnati, Ohio. However Goodman was bounced in the second round when Gene Zeigler of Florence, S.C., made eagle on the par-5 18th hole to edge Goodman 1 up.
Goodman had just tied the match with a birdie on the par-4 17 hoekkkin the second roun.
Goodman, 18 and headed to hometown University of Oklahoma this fall, won four holes in a row from No. 5 in his first-round match Wednesday.
William Sides of Tulsa lost his first-round match to John Broderic of Wellesley, Mass. 3 and 2.
