Goodman reels off 59 in practice round at Belmar GC

Oklahoma freshman Drew Goodman of Norman fired an 11-under 59 in a practice round Thursday at par-70 Belmar Golf Club in Norman.

Goodman eagled the par-4 second hole and then added nine birdies without a bogey. He parred the final two holes for a 29 on the back after shooting 30 on the front nine.

Goodman played the round with OU teammates Chris Gotterup, Ben Lorenz and Hudson Weibel. Goodman made his debut as a Sooner at The Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach last weekend, finishing tied for sixth at 4-under.
