Grant Gudgel of Stillwater opened with a 66 then hung on with a closing 77 to win the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour’s Battle of Broken Arrow by two shots over Ty Adkins of Hutchinson, Kan., and Carson Wright of Norman Sunday at The Club at Indian Spriings.

Jenni Roller of Jenks shot rounds of 73-70 to roll to a seven-shot victory over Emerie Schartz (78-72) of Derby, Kan., in the girls division.

Gudgel’s 6-under 66 was three shots better than any of his competitors managed either day on the par-72 River Course. Adkins shot rounds of 72-73 and Wright 70-74. Tied for fourth at 2-over were Preston Albee of Choctaw (77-69) and Benton Manly of Tulsa (73-73).

Roller, a University of Tulsa commit, pulled away with her 2-under second round, the only round under par among the girls. Lauren Milligan of Springdale, Ark., placed third a distant 15 shots behind at 158 (82-76), while Layne Ailshie of Fort Gibson was fourth (84-76) and Megan Kalapura of Tulsa fifth (83-80).
