Gregory makes five birdies in final round for first AJGA victory

Harlow Gregory, a freshman at Norman North, claimed her first victory on the American Junior Golf Association circuit by winning the AJGA’s Junior All Star at The Golf Club of Texas A&M at College Station Sunday.

Gregory made five birdies in her final-round 70 that put her at 214 for the 54-hole event, two shots ahead of Alexandra Phung of Forest Hills, N.Y,

Gregory shot rounds of 75-69-70 to secure her first AJGA win. She and Norman North teammate Juliana Hong have qualified to compete in the USGA Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship in early May at Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.

Gregory burst onto the Oklahoma golf scene by taking senior and now Arkansas freshman Natalie Blonien to the limit in the WOGA Girls Junior last summer. Blonien needed birdies on the final two holes to edge Gregory by a shot after she one-putted the final nine holes. She has since gone on to become one of the top-ranked juniors in the state.

Noah Manly of Broken Arrow tied for 16th among the 50 competitors in the boys division. Gregory, who made 10 birdies in the three rounds, was the only Oklahoman competing in the 27-player girls division, while there was a nine-girl contingent from California.
