Gudgel leads qualifying, seeks second OGA Senior Amateur title

Eric Gudgel of Stillwater shot the day’s low round of 2-under 70 as 32 golfers advanced to match play in the Oklahoma Golf Association Senior State Amateur Championship at Twin Hills in Oklahoma City Country Club.

Gudgel, who won this event in 2021 with a victory over Mike Gotcher in the championship match, is playing Scott Challis of Edmond in a first-round Tuesday morning. Complete scores from qualifying and live scoring for match play are here. 

In the Super Senior Division for golfers 65 and over, three golfers from Bartlesville were among the eight to advance to match play. Steve Hughes of Bartlesville led the way with a 3-under 69, followed by Shawn Barker of Bartlesville at even-par 72. Michael Hughett of Owasso, seeking his 26th OGA championship, was third with a 1-over 73.
