Gudgel torches Bailey Ranch with 63, cruises to OJGT victory
Grant Gudgel fired a 9-under 63 Sunday to cruise to an 8-shot victory in the Bailey Ranch Bash on the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour at Bailey Ranch in Owasso.
Gudgel, the Stillwater senior who has committed to Oklahoma State, opened with a 2-under 70 on Saturday, then made two eagles, six birdies and one bogey in his blazing round Sunday. Cameron Cheek of Owasso was second at 3-under after rounds of 72-69.
Nick Nicklov of Olathe, Kan., Jack Randall of Lawrence, Kan., and Samuel Bonaobra of Broken Arrow tied for third at 2-under.
Syrah Javed of Norman shot rounds of 71-76 to win the girls division at 3-over 147. Megan Kalapura of Tulsa was well back in second at 158 after rouinds of 80-78. Third place went to Riley Rinner of Tulsa at 158 (79-79), followed by Peyton Coburn of Broken Arrow at 159 (80-79) and Elle Daniels of Prague at 160 (79-81).
