Gunnar is medalist, leads Tulsa to second in Trinity Forest Invitational

DALLAS, Texas – Tulsa’s Lovisa Gunnar tied for first place while leading the Golden Hurricane to a second-place team finish at the Trinity Forest Invitational on Tuesday.

The freshman’s co-medalist performance bettered her previous season best of 18th place at the Texas State Invitational. She turned in a final round 74 to complete the 54-hole tournament with a score of even-par 216 at the par-72 Trinity Forest Golf Club.

The Hurricane finished final round action with its best tournament round with a 292 for a total score of 900, finishing behind No. 23 ranked Texas Tech’s 886 score. The second-place finish is the second time this year that the Hurricane has finished as the runner-up, the first coming earlier this spring at the Texas State Invitational.

Tulsa’s Haley Greb turned in a 1-under par round of 71 Tuesday for a 221 total to finish in a sixth-place tie. Lilly Thomas’ 2-under 70 today tied for the best round of the day among the 83 participants. Thomas finished in 24th place with a three-round score of 228.

Lorena Tseng scored a round of 77 and her 236 total score was good for 51st place. Tita Loudtragulngam finished in 76th place wafter her second straight round of 78 for a 244 total score.

Tulsa will be in action next at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Arizona, March 18-20.
