Hang, Rutland sign with Northeastern State women’s golf team
TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State golf coach Scott Varner announced the addition of Yasmin Hang and Macy Rutland to National Letter of Intents on Tuesday.
Hang is a native of West Sussex, Great Britain, where she was the Goodwood Golf Club Ladies Champion and Girls Junior Champion. Her lowest round was a 69.
Rutland will come to NSU from Gladewater, Texas, where she played at Sabine High School. Rutland is a four-time regional qualifier and three-time team MVP.
She qualified for the state tournament and is ranked in the top three in the North Texas PGA Medalist Series. Rutland also ran cross country and qualified for regionals four times. She was coached by Veronica Niles, whose husband Jerod was a member of the NSU men’s golf team.
Northeastern State is off until March 9, where it will head to Edmond for a tournament hosted by Southern Nazarene.
