Hart fires scintillating 63 at LaFortune Park in PGA Junior Tour event

Porter Hart of Broken Arrow fired a 9-under-par 63 at LaFortune Park Wednesday to win a South Central PGA Section Junior Tour event. The round is one of the lowest if not the lowest ever shot in competition at LaFortune Park but would not be considered a course record as contestants played from the green tees at less than 6,500 yards, played the ball up and the soon-to-be-repaired bunkers were out of play.

Still it was a fantastic round. Hart, a 15-year-old who will be a junior at Broken Arrow High School this fall, eagled both par-5s on the front nine (7 and 9) in going out in 6-under 30 and made four birdies against one bogey on the back nine for a 33.

Lakyn Moritz of Stillwater shot a fine round of 66 to take second. They were the only two contestants under 74. The competitive course record from the back tees is a 65 shot by Patrick West in 2016.
