Howard again named top 50 fitness instructor by Golf Digest
Clint Howard, owner of Golf Fitness Systems and Tulsa Fitness Systems, has been named one of the Top 50 Golf Fitness Instructors in the nation by Golf Digest.
Howard was also named the last time the magazine conducted its survey in 2017.
Golf Digest formed an advisory panel that examined hundreds of applicants. Unlike its first fitness ranking in 2017, which included professionals in all aspects of wellness, this list focuses solely on trainers.
“We wanted this list to be about the trainers in the trenches, the ones who can and sometimes do work with tour pros, and can make a 65-year-old with spinal stenosis play and feel better,” says Golf Digest fitness advisor Ben Shear.
Howard trains golfers ranging from beginners to PGA Tour veterans such as Bo Van Pelt. He has worked with college and high school programs, top juniors, PGA professionals and weekend golfers, basically anyone who wants to increase their swing speed, strength, flexibility and overall fitness. He writes a fitness column for Golf Oklahoma and is a sponsor and frequent guest on the Golf Oklahoma Radio Hour.
“It’s a great honor to be recognized by your peers,” Howard said. “I’m one of a few to make the list both now and in 2017 so that was very rewarding.
“I think people understand now that golf fitness is a big component of the game. We’ve never had a golfer who trains with us who hasn’t seen better results, the ability to hit the ball farther and score better.”
