Chase Hughes of Oklahoma City placed sixth and Grant Gudgel of Stillwater tied for eighth in the K.J. Choi Foundation Texas Junior Championship, a highly-ranked American Junior Golf Association event that concluded Sunday at The Bridges Golf Club in Gunter, Texas.

The tournament was won at 11-under by Charlie Tucker of Castle Pines, Colo. Hughes, 13, was one of only six golfers in the field to shoot under par, finishing at 1-under after rounds of 73-70-72.

Gudgel, the Oklahoma State signee gunning for his second Class 6A state championship this spring, shot rounds of 75-69-73 to finish at 1-over.

Seven of the top 50 ranked juniors in the United States competed in the event. Hughes is ranked second in the Class of 2028.
