Jalomo fires 62 to grab first-round lead in Oklahoma Open
Christian Jalomo of Richmond, Texas shot an 8-under-par 62 to grab the first-round lead in the 2022 Oklahoma Open on the East Course at Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond.
Jaloma, a pro who this year competed extensively on the All Pro Tour, has a one-shot lead over Griffen Locke of Joplin, Mo., and Blake Trimble of The Village, each of whom reeled off rounds of 7-under 63.
Amateur Alejandro Armijo of Rio Rancho, NM, a member of the Oklahoma Christian team, is tied for fourth at 64 with Luke Gannon of Mahomet, Ill. and Gage Ihrig of Goodland, Kan.

The 54-hole event continues today after which the field will be cut to the low 40 and ties for the final round Saturday.
Among the Oklahomans in the field with PGA Tour experience, Rhein Gibson shot 3-under 67 and Josh Creel shot 68. Defending champion Zach James shot 73.
