Johnson shares lead for Riverhawks in NSU Classic
MUSKOGEE, Okla. — NSU sophomore Jax Johnson is tied for the lead after the first two rounds of the 21st annual NSU Classic. The RiverHawks are fourth overall as a team after shooting 561 on the day (281-280).
Johnson shot a 133 for the day (66-67) to lead the RiverHawks. Casey Paul is tied for 15th at two-under par, shooting 140 on the day (71-69). Carlos Gomez (73-71) and Hunter Pennington (71-73) are both tied for 32nd after shooting 144.
Grant Hynes is tied for 48th after shooting 146 (71-75). Austin Tackett is tied for 65th with a score of 149 (76-73). Ty Shelnutt is tied for 84th with a score of 153 (73-80).
Arkansas Tech is the team leader with a score of 556 (283-273). Central Missouri is second with 558 (285-273) with Washburn in third place at 560 (280-280). Southwestern Okla. State rounds out the top five at 565 (276-289).
The final round of the tournament will get started at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
