Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Steve Largent headlines a group of Oklahoma celebrities who will be teeing off in the Cinco De Mayo Pryor Main Street Golf Tournament Friday at Pryor Creek Golf Course, part of a fund raiser for Pryor Main Street, a non-profit to revitalize downtown Pryor.

The group of celebrities includes fellow football stars Melvin Gilliam, R.W. McQuarters, Uve Von Schamann, Steve August, Brandon Braxton and baseball’s Gerry Pirtle, Todd Jackson, Paul Postier, Phil Klimas, Mark Ryal and many others.

Dennis Bowman, director of golf and superintendent at Pryor Creek, said the course has seen record rounds in both February and March of this year and he expects the strong play to continue.

“We’re seeing so many families, college kids, young players,” Bowman said. “Golf is cool again and it gives them a chance to get outside and get off those screens.
