Lawton’s Watson commits to Baylor Bears coached by McGraw

Cooper Watson of MacArthur High School in Lawton has committed to play for Baylor, coached by 2025 Oklahoma Golf Hall of Fame inductee Mike McGraw.

The lanky left hander finished fourth in the Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship this summer at Shangri-La, just missing a three-way tie for first by a single shot. He has recorded three top-five finishes in Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour events and one top-three finish in an American Junior Golf Association tournament.

Watson, whose swing coach is Chase Cooper of Edmond, generates impressive swing speed and has the potential to greatly improve over his collegiate career. He is a senior at MacArthur and will join the Baylor program in the fall of 2026.
